Getting Started
This meeting is an opportunity for us to get acquainted, for you to share the issues bringing you to therapy, and for us to explain how we work so that we can all determine whether this feels like a good fit. The initial consultation is free of charge.
If we decide to move forward with therapy, we will then schedule your first couples therapy session.
Payment Methods
Insurance
Helpful questions to ask your insurance provider:
- Do I have out-of-network benefits for therapy? If yes, what percentage of the cost is covered?
- How many sessions are covered per year?
- Do I have a deductible and has it been met?
- For couples therapy: Do you reimburse for CPT Code 90847 (Family Therapy with the Patient Present)?
- What forms are required for reimbursement?
How Our Practice Works
Session Length and Frequency
Subsequent sessions are usually two hours in length. Most couples attend therapy one to four times per month, depending on their goals and circumstances.
Both partners are required to attend all sessions, and we ask that you arrive on time to gain maximum benefit.
Couples Intensives
If you are traveling from out of town, we will provide a referral to a qualified marriage and family therapist in your area to ensure continuity of care after the intensive.
Office Hours
Tuesday—Friday 8:45 AM to 6:00 PM.
Cancellations
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be billed. No-shows will be billed.
